NewVillage is a nonprofit organization that connects older adults with volunteers who provide various support services. Our platform facilitates service requests, event registration, community communication, and member management.

3. Membership

Eligibility

Membership is available to adults aged 50 and older residing in our service area. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and approve or deny membership applications.

Membership Fees

Membership fees are as stated at the time of registration. Fees may be paid monthly or annually. We reserve the right to change fees with 30 days notice.

Cancellation

Members may cancel at any time by contacting our office. Refunds for annual payments will be prorated based on unused months.

4. Volunteer Services

Nature of Services

Volunteer services are provided by independent volunteers, not employees of NewVillage. Services are offered as a convenience to members and are not guaranteed.

Limitation of Liability

NewVillage screens volunteers but cannot guarantee the quality of services or the actions of individual volunteers. Members use volunteer services at their own risk.

Transportation

When accepting rides from volunteers, members acknowledge that volunteers are using their personal vehicles and insurance. NewVillage is not liable for accidents or incidents during transport.

5. Volunteer Responsibilities

By volunteering with NewVillage, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information in your application
• Complete required background checks for certain service types
• Maintain valid licenses and insurance as applicable
• Treat members with respect and maintain confidentiality
• Report any concerns or incidents to NewVillage staff
• Not accept payment from members for services

6. User Conduct

All users agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Share false or misleading information
• Attempt to access other users' accounts
• Use the platform for commercial solicitation
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

7. Intellectual Property

The NewVillage name, logo, and all content on our platform are the property of NewVillage. Users may not use our intellectual property without written permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your expectations.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewVillage shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NewVillage, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or for any reason at our discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
